Our First Large Group of the Semester!

Chris preaching to a full house for our first large group!

Tonight was our first large group of the semester as well as the first day of classes! Large group is usually one of the biggest events that RUF does each week in terms of logistics. There are many things to co-ordinate from printing sign up sheets and event fliers to setting up sound and organizing the worship team.

All in all I think it went really well! We had a great turn out tonight with a lot of new faces. It was awesome to see some of the Freshman connecting with each other and so encouraging to see how welcoming the upperclassmen were to the new students!

We had a great time worshiping the Lord and hearing from 1 John as Chris started this semester's sermon series on Gospel-driven relationships.

Our Large Group flier for this semester.

We finished out the evening with great conversation and some Rita's shaved ice!

Thank you so much to all of you who have been praying for us this week as Maryland starts school. God is doing exciting things on campus and we appreciate you being a part of it all! Please continue to pray for Logan and I as well as for the new students on campus.

p.s. I promise a few more posts coming soon about our Move/Apartment as well as one about our Student Leadership Retreat & Welcome Week activities! Stay tuned. :o)

Good News!

Good news everyone!!!

I found out today that through all of the gifts I've received and the gifts that are on the way, God has provided 102% of my first year's budget! (Whatever extra I get over 100% goes directly to Kristy's budget. She's still at about 87%. Check out our support page for more info)

What's even more notable is that not much more than a week ago I was around 57% of my budget. That's $16,815 that came in within the past 10 days!

God has humbled us mightily. He provided our support this summer in a way that made it obvious it was from Him and not from our own doing. We are beginning to realize how small and powerless we are in comparison with His great love. We just hope to be swept up into the swell of what He's already doing! God is at work and He's pulled us in to be a part. He's pulled YOU in to be a part.

Please know that we consider you partners in ministry, and that we consider your gifts and prayers as a huge part of His Kingdom work here in College Park, MD. Financial and prayer supporters, brothers and sisters, you are ministers! We work to build the Kingdom for God's glory, and do so to your credit because of your gifts and prayers! Phil 4:17 "Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit." (ESV)

With all that said, we just want to thank you for your generosity. Thank you! We wouldn't be here with out God working through you. We thank God for you!

Grace and peace,
Logan

P.S. Please continue to keep us in your prayers! Please visit our prayer request page for specific things coming up soon.

Help Logan Reach 85%!

Hi everyone,

Kristy just found out today that she received a $1,200 donation! That puts Kristy at 85% of her budget, which means we get to move! We're so thankful to you guys for helping us get here. God has provided faithfully through you.

Moving also means I really need your help! I'm still only at 51% of my budget, and I can't meet with students or be involved in any of the starting RUF events until I'm at 85%.

I need $11,976 to reach 85% and get to start working as an intern. I really want to be involved as freshman are coming in and students are returning! Please considering giving today.

Pledges are calculated on a 10 month basis (Aug '12 - June '13).

To donate online, visit ruf.org/donate.
Select "Lowder, Logan - Maryland" in the drop-down box under "Staff Member."

Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. Please keep us in your prayers.

Grace and peace,
Logan

We are so close - Help Us Get to Campus!

Today has been, well quite frankly, the worst day of our summer. It's a long and complicated story the involves me waking up Logan at 4am due to a leaking water hose and flooded bathroom, having to postpone our move, and a thunderstorm. That last one was just kind of icing on the cake. That is the major highlight version of the story anyway.

BUT God is still good and his faithfulness is more than we deserve. He is merciful and just to keep us depending on him.  And we continue to trust in Him for our life, breath, salvation, and support for our ministry.

Now for the good news: We are so close to being able to move! I only need $1,200 to get the green light from the RUF office.

We are trying to get to Maryland by the end of the week, so we really need your help! If you haven't given already, would you consider a monthly pledge or one-time gift?

You can give online at www.ruf.org/donate
1) Fill out your info, indicate how much you'd like to give as either a one time gift, or set up a monthly payment for a monthly pledge.
2) Select my name (Lowder, Kristy) from the drop down staff menu,
3) Then shoot me an email (kristy.lowder@ruf.org) to let me know that I can move because your gift is on it's way!

If you'd rather mail your gift in:
Send it to
Reformed University Fellowship
1700 North Brown Road, Suite 104
Lawrenceville, GA 30034

1)Make your check out to RUF, and include my name and fund code
(Kristy Lowder 1360) in the memo line.
2) Then just include a note indicating that this amount is a monthly pledge if you want to give monthly, and RUF will mail you an envelope each month!

Logan is also working hard to get to campus! While he will be allowed to move with me, he can't start working with students until he reaches 85% as well. He needs about $10,000 to get there! Please be praying for him as he works, and consider giving to him. See our Support tab for info how. We are so close! Please help us be ready for the students at the beginning of this semester!

Thank you so much to everyone who has already given, you are such a blessing to us! God has already been working through you to teach us so much this summer, and I can't wait to see have blessing he will pour out through your giving at UMD! Please keep us in your prayers as we look to finish the summer strong and make it to campus ontime!

Grace & Peace,
Kristy
