This past weekend Logan and I took some of our students about an hour outside D.C. to a local farm. We picked apples, pumpkins from the patch, took a hay ride, and drank a lot of fresh apple cider!
Afterwards we invited the students over to carve their pumpkins, have dinner & roast pumpkin seeds and watch a movie. Logan and I were particularly excited to have 3 of our Chinese grad students come along. We have so much fun with all of our students!

| Apple picking is more fun when you get to climb trees, visit goats, and take a hay ride! |

It was great to be able to get to know some of our students better and invite them into our home. Many times students get locked into campus life. Having the chance to get off campus and spend time in a warm and inviting home brought a bit of perspective and relief from mid terms for the students.
